He guides each student — from aspiring professionals to non-majors — to unlock their fullest musical potential, a philosophy that has produced remarkable results, including a student who won first prize at the National Trumpet Competition and three finalists the following year.

Having performed and taught across Korea, Singapore, Thailand, and the United States, Matthew brings a uniquely global perspective to his work, serving as a bridge between American and Korean music communities and championing the kind of cultural exchange that transforms both musicians and human beings.
